The Government of Canada introduced Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) in December 2013 to provide e-Visa to foreign nationals. On 10 November 2016, the eTA was made compulsory for all the visa-free nationals except America; if they arrive by air. It is not required on entry by sea or overland entry. The e-Visa provided by Canada has the maximum validity of upto 5 years with 6 months stay on each visit. In 2018, the online applications for work permits, study permits, visitor visa and permanent residency included biometrics as a part of the application process.

Documents Required for Canadian eVisa Online / Visa on arrival / ETA / Invite letters

1- A recent digital photograph of the applicant.

2- Scanned color copies of your passport with minimum validity of up to 6 months.

Entry Requirements for Canadian eVisa

1- There must be at least two blank pages on your Passport for entry stamp by the Immigration Officer.

2- The e-Visa for Canada has the validity of upto 5 years or until your passport expires.

3- You can visit Canada as often as you want under the validity period of your ETA. The maximum stay limit can be upto 6 months per visit.

4- You will be required to provide your proof of identity and Passport which will be verified by a border services officer when you arrive in Canada.

5- You will also be required to show your citizen card or permanent residence card like a US Green Card.

6- Children under the age of 18 also need to travel with appropriate documents as adults.
