Different Methods to Apply for a Visa
There is more than one way to apply for a Visa if you want to travel to Kyrgyzstan.
Applying Online Through the Website
If you want to apply online for a Visa, you need to visit the website and check if you are eligible for Kyrgyzstan eVisa. If you are eligible for Visa on arrival or Visa-exempt, you can also apply for eVisa.
The eVisa Process is easy; all you need to do is start the application. On the homepage, click on "Apply for a visa," attach a passport-size picture and a scanned copy of the passport.
Pay the fees with a debit card or credit card.
Wait for the visa processing procedure, which can take about a week.
Applying for a Visa on Arrival to Kyrgyzstan
Upon arrival, you can get your Visa at Manas International Airport, which is valid for a specified amount of time. Visa on arrival is possible if you are from an eligible country.
Applying at one of the Consulates or Embassies of Kyrgyzstan abroad

Kyrgyzstan Visa Categories
The Kyrgyz Republic offers different categories of Visas. These categories include Diplomatic, Official, Invest, Employment, Driver, Religious, Family, and Transit Visas.
A diplomatic Visa is issued to a diplomatic passport holder, a foreign citizen, visiting the Kyrgyz republic on Official affair. The period of this Visa can be 30 days, 90 days, or up to 1 year unless provided more time by an international treaty. This Visa is issued to
- Head of Foreign states
- Family members
- Members of Foreign Official delegations.
Official Visa is issued to foreign citizens, someone with an official passport, visiting Kyrgyz republic on an official affair. This type of single, double, or multiple Visa is up to 90 days or one year. This Visa is issued unless provided more time by an international treaty. Official Visa is issued to:
- Foreign citizens
- Visiting the Kyrgyz Republic on invitation from the state offices of Kyrgyz Republic.
- A foreign courier with diplomatic mail
Period of Invest Visa is up to 3 years, and this type of Visa is issued if eligible for the following
- head of a foreign investment company or investors and his family
- carrying out investment activities in Kyrgyzstan
- submitting necessary documents
- certifying contribution to Kyrgyz Republic's economy of the material and monetary values equal to 10 million soms.
- For industrial, financial, energy, agricultural, medical, engineering, construction, and IT technologies in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Employment Visa (w1)
Issued to someone with a work permit or individual entrepreneurship. A person with this Visa can work in the Kyrgyz Republic for 90 days without work and individual entrepreneurship permission. After a work permit, the Kyrgyz Republic issues multiple (w1) employment visas, with validity periods of the work permit.
Employment Visa (w2)
This Visa is issued to applicants following the law of the Kyrgyz Republic, "On External Labor Migration." Without a work permit, a person can perform labour work for up to 90 days. This Visa can be annually extended by Consular Services or the Ministry of foreign affairs.
A driver's Visa is issued to a foreign citizen visiting Kyrgyzstan for international cargo transportation through a truck. This Visa is issued for a maximum of 6 months if the applicant is staying, and the period is not more than 30 days during one trip unless an international treaty provides more time.
This visa is issued to the missioners visiting the Kyrgyz Republic with cooperation from a religious organization. The period of this type of Visa is 60 days.
Family Visa is issued to the family members of a foreign citizen living in the Kyrgyz Republic. These members can be Underage Children, Spouses, and dependent parents. The period of this type of Visa is up to 1 year.
A Transit Visa is issued to an applicant going to a third country through the Kyrgyz Republic. The period of this Visa is up to 5 days.
