Sri Lanka Applicant Information - Tourist - Individual

If you are planning your next trip to Sri Lanka, you can easily get an electronic visa- a document that legally authorizes you to enter the country by filling out a simple application form.

The form requires you to enter your personal details, passport details, the information for the desired visa, and the payment method.

Sri Lanka provides e-Visas to the applicants through an Electronic Travel Authorization-ETA system. You can apply for a Tourist ETA, a Business ETA, or a Transit ETA depending upon nature of your visit. For each option you have the choice to apply as an individual, as a group, or as a third party.

The whole process is completed in four easy steps:

Following is the guide for how should you apply for the Sri Lankan ETA/e-Visa as an Individual.

Step: 01 Submit Application

• In the first step, you have to fill in all the fields required in the application form.

• Fields with a * (asterisk) mean that you must provide information for those entries otherwise, the application may not proceed further.

• Minors or children-related information applies only to the parents who wish to them on the trip.

• Filling the details in the application form is a straightforward and swift process.

• You must keep your passport with you in order to avoid any mismatch between the information on your passport and that on e-Visa.

• Even the slightest misinformation can result in the denial of the visa.

All information should be entered as per the applicant's passport

Personal Details:

Surname/Family Name: Enter your last name as in passport. E.g., in “Elon Musk” Musk would be the surname.*

Other/Given Names*: Given name is the name assigned to you upon your birth, in this tab you should type your first name or given name the same as in passport, E.g., in “Elon Musk” Elon is the first name. If you have a middle name in your passport, enter it besides your given name, E.g., in “Elon Reeve Musk” Reeve is the middle name.

Title *: In this drop-down, you will be provided with a list of titles. Select the title by considering your gender, marital status, or a particular profession. Select:

     Mr

     Master

     Miss

     Mr

     Mrs

     Ms

     Rev

• “Mr” if you are a male, single, married, or widowed.
• “Mrs” if you are a female, single, married, or widowed.
• “Miss” if you are a female and unmarried.
• “Ms” if you are a female, single, married, or widowed but you don’t prefer to use the title of Mrs or Miss.
• “Dr” if you are a male or female, doctor or PhD.

Date of Birth*: Enter your birth date same as your passport in the format mm/dd/yyyy.01/24/1990 means that you were born on the 24th of January, 1990.

Gender*: Specify your gender.

Nationality*: Select the country of which you possess a passport.

Country of Birth*: Select the country where you were born.

Occupation: In the occupation tab, write your current occupation.

Passport Details:

Passport Number*: Enter your valid passport number.

Passport Issued Date*: Enter the date on which your passport was issued in the mm/dd/yyyy format.

Passport Expiry Date *: Enter the date on which your passport will expire in the mm/dd/yyyy format.

Children under 16 years of age possessing separate passport(s) should submit individual application(s)

• Children under 16 should submit a separate, individual application(s).
• Please note that if your child is over 12 years, he will be subjected to an equal visa fee.
• Use the same instructions provided in section of Personal Details to enter the surname, given name, date of birth, and gender of your children.
• Relation: In this drop-down you may select “child”.

Step: 02 Review Information

Recheck every detail you filled in the form and match the information with that of your passport.

Step: 03 Payment Options

You can select any payment method for submitting the visa-fee. VisaCard, MasterCard, and American Express can be used for this purpose.

Step: 04 ETA Confirmation

How should you apply for an ETA/e-Visa for Sri Lanka as a group?

You can also apply for Sri Lankan e-Visa in a group by filling out the entries using the same above instructions.

You will provide all of the details for each member.

How should you apply for an ETA/e-Visa for Sri Lanka as a Third Party?

Use the same instructions for filling out the form.

In the tab of the Third-Party type, you have to specify it as personal or organizational.
