This process aims to help travelers to apply for the required authorization needed to enter Oman in a certain period. The e-Visa process eliminates the time-consuming traditional way of filing to apply for a Visa. It aims to benefit all eligible travelers, especially those who plan to visit Oman on short-notice and do not have time to apply physically at a consulate.

Travelers have the option to choose whether they would go for a Single-entry or Multiple-entry visa. Applicant must be outside Oman at the date of application. This type of visa is not changeable and not eligible as a work visa. Overstaying may incur applicable fines and penalties.

Some nationals from other countries are not eligible to get an e-Visa and have to go directly to a consulate or an embassy.

Oman Sponsored Visa and Unsponsored Visa

Most Oman Visa types require sponsorship from a resident or company for employment, family residence, and investment purposes. Sponsored visa needs the complete details of a resident or company who adheres to guarantee the stay of a non-resident passport holder to Omani authorities, may it be for a personal visit, tourism, or employment purposes. Independent travelers may opt to get an unsponsored visa in most cases for short-term tourism depending on the duration of travel.

Oman has several types of Visa. It depends on the traveler's nationality, a period of stay, and the purpose of travel. Most travelers acquire a Tourist Visa to enter Oman and have provisions to meet, such as having a return ticket, confirmed booking accommodation, and health insurance.

Below are the types of Visa Oman offers:

Tourist Visa:Tourist Visa is for travelers and tourists who wish to visit Oman not exceeding 30 days.

Employment Visa:A foreigner is eligible for an Employment Visa provided that a resident of Oman would sponsor their employment.

Family Residence Visa:Family Residence Visa is eligible to the spouse of a foreigner or his/her children below 28 years old provided that they could submit necessary certificates as evidence.

Express Visa:Express Visa for representatives of the Sultanate abroad who often join business conferences. It allows a traveler to stay in Oman for 21 days from the date of arrival and is non-renewable.

Official Visit Visa:Official Visit Visa is eligible to foreigners during hosting events requested by the government.

Student Residence Visa:Student Residence Visa could grant 2 to 3 years duration at most.

Investor Residence Visa:Investors and entrepreneurs are welcome for entry provided that they could obtain approval from the Ministry and Commerce Industry.

Truck Driver Visa:Truck drivers have their visa for road passage that allows them to enter ports multiple times.

Oman Visa for Relatives – Family Visiting or Joining:It is eligible to the spouse of an Omani resident or his children below 21 years old.

All sorts of Visa have their requirement for eligibility. The length of stay may differ depending on the purpose of travel.

Procedure to Follow for Oman E-visa Application Online

E-Visa does not require a local sponsor. It also means that local citizens of Oman are not allowed to guarantee a foreigner’s stay with an e-Visa. Foreigners are required to apply e-Visa by themselves.

Oman E-visa Required Documents

• Eligible travelers must have a passport with at least six months validity upon the date of arrival in Oman
• A valid debit or credit card for e-Visa online payment upon registration
• Active email address in correspondence to the update of e-Visa application
• Applicants must have a scan or print of the passport information page
• Digital passport-style photo of the traveler

Optional:

• Minor applicants must have their Birth Certificate
• Applicants for GCC Residence e-Visa must obtain residency cards from GCC countries with six months validity from the intended date of travel
• Return ticket and confirmed accommodation (Dates on the documents should match the travel date on the application to avoid discrepancies.)

Please be advised that it is required to have a printed copy of the issued visa. Travelers need to present it to the border authority upon entry.
