If you want to experience an exhilarating and adventurous tour with a blend of trekking, Pakistan mountaineering trekking, biking, jeep safaris, fishing, skiing, capturing the magnificent sights of nature and ancient heritage, visiting Pakistan is a must for you.

If not thousands, there can be hundreds of reasons to visit the country. Cheap goods, mouth-watering cuisine, and hospitable and humble locals who get excited when they see a foreigner are there to give you a warm welcome and feeling of being at home.

In past years, Pakistan suffered from terrorism, but the gradual military operations have made the country safe to roam. As a result, Pakistan has remained an eye-candy for travelers worldwide.

Pakistan experienced a considerable rise in the rate of tourists visiting every year.

The influx of tourists at cultural sites rose to 6.6millions in 2018.  It gained the attention of tourists globally when Forbes ranked Pakistan as 'Top Ten Coolest Place' in 2019 and 'The Best Under-The-Radar Trip' in 2020. Exclusively, Condé Nast Traveller's enlists top 21 places as 'Best Holiday Destinations' for 2021, and guess what? Pakistan ranks first in the list.

Pakistan is topping all these coveted lists due to its dynamic landscape encompassing seas, rivers, deserts, lakes, waterfalls, year-round seasonal changes, soaring mountains, peaceful glaciers, all in just one ticket.

Relaxed visa restrictions, high profile British Royals' visit, and real endorsement by most followed travel vloggers have granted the country the limelight it deserves. Now it will also host the 'World Tourism Forum' in 2021, due to be held in Islamabad. After a brief hiatus in tourism due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic that has hit almost every country and region in the world, Pakistan has opened its land, maritime, and air borders for tourists. It's time to update your bucket list and put a tick on Pakistan as it's the destination to be in 2021. Here's all you need to know to plan a trip to the wonderland of Pakistan in 2021 and beyond.

Pakistan Covid-19 Update:

The government of Pakistan requires the tourists to have a negative Covid-19 test result. The test should be taken within 72 hours from departure. The SOPs related to Covid such as maintaining social distancing, washing hands timely, observing and spreading cleanliness, the governments recommends the same SOPs to the travellers.

Plan Tour De Pakistan - 2021

Pakistan boasts beautiful towering mountains, peaceful yet soothing lakes and rivers, historically vibrant cities, and rich culture. The following information about tourism spots will help you to plan your next visit to Pakistan.

Lahore:

You should start your thrilling tour from Lahore, as Pakistanis call it "Lahore Lahore Aye" in a cheesy Punjabi accent, which means Lahore stands alone and unmatched with any other city in Pakistan.

In Lahore, Badshahi Mosque is one of the most beautiful and largest mosques in the world. It can hold the capacity of 100000 worshippers, all at a time. Yes, you read it correctly '100000 worshippers'.

Then visiting the Old City of Lahore will amaze you as such colourful, old, congested infrastructure has become one of the unusual sights in the present civilized era.

Here, you can try loads of cheap street foods; even they might offer it to you for free. You may try delicious Lamb Karahi (a local curry), Murgh Cholay (chicken cooked with chickpeas) with a Naan (a form of bread), and a Lassi (a drink made by the hard blend of yogurt and milk).

You can also visit the Wagah Indian-Pakistani border ceremony. In this ceremony, you will notice the Pakistani citizens' roars, raising the slogans of 'Pakistan Zindabad,' supporting their country, and cheering the men in uniforms.

Islamabad:

Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan. In contrast with other parts of the country, it is the only region where you will find wide and clean roads, adorned with greenery, and rows of flowers on its sides, heavy vehicles moving here and there (a show-off of good governance and power), as it holds the Parliament, Embassies, and hosts official meetings.

Here, the elites of Pakistan live.

You must visit the Faisal Mosque, a memory of Late King Faisal of Saudia Arabia, the country's largest mosque. But, if you are on a short few-day trip, you may skip Islamabad and go high to Pakistan's northern areas.

Kashmir:

Azad Jammu & Kashmir, or Pakistan Administered Kashmir, is the dream destination for tourists. You have no chance but to admire the astounding beauty of Neelum Valley.

The mountainous landscape of Kashmir, ranging from low hills to high mountains, does not need strong muscles to find adventure.

But, don't get close to the borders since a heavy military is present due to tensions between Pakistan and its neighbour country India.

Peshawar:

In Peshawar, the city of KPK, you will find appealing local bazaars, museums, and forts. Along with the land, Peshawar's people are also blessed with immense beauty, mostly coloured eyes, brown hair, flawless and fresh skin. They are considered to be strong men who uphold their moral values.

You should be respectful to them and their ladies to get their love. Don't forget to taste their Chapli Kebabs and Peshawari Ice-Cream.

Nanga Parbat:

Nanga Parbat is also called a killer mountain due to immense peak rising (counted in one of the eight-thousanders). This one is challenging for trekkers, difficult to climb. Fairy Meadows is a nearby tourist spot for enjoying the beauty.

Hunza:

Hunza, a mountainous valley in Gilgit Baltistan, offers you jaw-dropping colourful sights, surrounded by striking mountains, perfect for spending days and rehabilitating peace of mind. Also, visit Passu Glaciers and add in your list to visit Altit Fort and Baltit forts- carrying the history in them.

You should also spare time for a wonderful rainbow lake in Naltar, a unique lake with shades of colours.

Shandur Pass:

At the Shandur pass, you can find the highest polo pitch in the world. Here you will see many valleys and opportunities for trekking.

Karachi:

Karachi, the country's economic hub, gives a real look of diversity, people with different dress-codes, language, accent, and lifestyle as you move around in the city. Well, it has the best food all over the country. Don't miss Karahi (a special chicken curry), Biryani (a dish of rice and chicken/meat), Kebabs (marinated and tendered meat, with variety of spices), and Haleem (served with fried onion and special spices), Doodh-Patti (a hot Tea, prepared in a special manner), and lot more. There are not so many tourist sites here, except for the tomb of their founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah or the Sea. But if you go far to Sindh, you can find the ancient Moen-Jo-Daro, "the mound of the dead."

Dos and Don'ts in Pakistan.

You should take care of a few points while staying in Pakistan

  • Must keep some cash with you.
  • Keep photocopies of travel documents with you.
  • Keep your bottled water along all the time.
  • For travelling, you can use cheap buses, rickshaws, and online taxi services like AirLift, Uber, and Careem, to name a few. Railways and domestic flights are also a suitable option.
  • In northern areas, it would be better to travel with a local guide or friends.
  • The majority of Pakistanis are Muslims. You will find bearded men and veiled women. Generally, men are possessive of their women, so you should interact with them accordingly. Just respect their beliefs, and they will pour out hearts for you.
  • Keep in mind, Pakistan is a land of unpredictability. Breakdowns and landslides can often make you stuck for hours, so keep some engaging alternatives for you.

It is impossible to cover all tourist destinations in one trip. But, what you should look for is to make every moment you spend there long-lasting for the rest of your life.
