Exemptions from eTA Requirements:

• Kenya passport holders or Emergency Certificate holders from Kenya Missions abroad.
• Individuals with Kenya Permanent Residence, Work Permits, and Passes.
• Holders of a United Nations Conventional Travel Document issued by Kenya.
• Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations' members accredited to Kenya.
• Citizens from East African Partner States (Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda) - exemption valid for six months.
• Transit passengers arriving and departing on the same aircraft or connecting flights without leaving airport precincts in Kenya.
• Passengers arriving and departing on the same ship without disembarking.
• Crew members listed in the manifest and traveling to a destination outside Kenya.
• Private aircraft owners refueling in Kenya without leaving airport precincts.

eTA Requirement:

All other travelers, including infants and children, must obtain an eTA before traveling to Kenya.

Preparation for Application:

• Valid passport (minimum six months validity from arrival date in Kenya) with at least one blank page.
• Passport-type photograph (selfie acceptable).
• Contact details including email and phone number.
• Arrival and departure itinerary.
• Accommodation booking confirmation.
• Payment method (credit/debit card, Apple Pay, etc.).

Additional Requirements Based on Residence, Citizenship, and Travel History:

• Financial assets or bank letter(s).
• Return transportation booking.
• Yellow fever certificate and other vaccination or test result certificates.

Purpose-specific Requirements:

• For medical visits: Referral letter from doctor/hospital.
• For conferences: Invitation or participation letter.
• For employment: Employment contract and supporting documents.
• For business visits: Company invitation letter and company registration copy.
• For family visits: Invitation letter and ID/passport/alien card/entry permit of host.
