Emirates A380 resumes Vienna flights, improving travel and comfort

Emirates ushers in the new year with thrilling news on January 9th, stating, starting February 21st until March 30th, 2024, flights EK127 and EK128, currently served by a Boeing 777-300ER, will be upgraded to a three-class A380 aircraft, enhancing capacity and providing travellers to and from Vienna with expanded options. This aligns with the majestic return of the Emirates A380 to Vienna, carrying over 400 passengers to the Austrian capital. With operations resumed at Vienna International Airport, Emirates proudly stands as the exclusive carrier operating the A380, solidifying the bond between Emirates and Vienna in this significant milestone of their collaborative journey.

Reviving Luxury Travel and Boosting Tourism

In 2014, the A380 landed in Austria, celebrating Emirates' 10th year in the country. Scheduled A380 flights between Dubai and Vienna began in 2016. Today, the A380 resumes its Vienna-Dubai route, providing passengers with an unparalleled journey on this beloved aircraft.

Elisabeth Zauner, Emirates Austria's Country Manager, expresses delight in reintroducing the A380 on the Vienna-Dubai route, providing passengers with an unmatched experience aboard this renowned aircraft. The A380 stands as Emirates' flagship, beloved by travellers worldwide. Its return signifies a milestone for Emirates' operations in Austria, showcasing the market's significance within Emirates' global route network. Passengers can once again enjoy the amenities offered by the Emirates A380, including shower spas for First Class and the Onboard Lounge on the upper deck.

Since August 2022, Vienna has been without the Emirates A380. However, with the recent adjustment in the winter flight schedule, reflecting the airline's responsive fleet planning, Emirates will exclusively operate the two-deck favourite A380 to Vienna Airport. Evening flights EK 126 and EK 125 will maintain their regular operation with a B777-300ER.

Julian Jäger, Joint CEO of Vienna Airport, echoes the excitement, stating, "The presence of the world's largest passenger aircraft is a standout feature for travellers and a valuable addition to Vienna Airport. The accompanying capacity boost signifies enhanced connections to the Near and Middle East, contributing positively to tourism in and out of Austria."

Using the A380 allows for nearly 40% more passengers, underscoring Vienna's significance and the demand for long-haul travel through Dubai. However, there won't be an increase in freight capacity on the Vienna-Dubai route due to the aircraft change.

Passengers flying on the Emirates A380 are in for a treat with exclusive perks like onboard shower spas in First Class and a dedicated lounge for First and Business Class travellers on the upper deck. Plus, everyone on board will indulge in a wide array of international and regional cuisines, enhanced by Emirates' renowned ice entertainment system boasting up to 6,500 channels of on-demand content.
